Turkey Vulture

By: Marcus Negron

Turkey Vultures a large dark birds with long wings. Even longer than eagles and condors. There fingers at their wingtips are long including it’s tail. They are 25 to 32 inches in length. (One of the four largest birds) They are found around open areas like landfills, trash heaps, and construction sites. Slow pace animals, glide low searching for carrion or dead putrefying flesh (rotten meat or flesh) (preferred food). The breeding season is in March and may drag into April or May and continues into June. This involves individual birds gathering in a circle where they hop around the circle with their wings spread. In the air, one bird follows the other while flapping and diving.
