The American Herring Gulls latin name is American Herring Mergulum. Adult Gulls have gray backs with gray wings. They have black wingtips with white spots and have pink legs. They usually fly near shorelines and open ocean, searching for scraps off the ocean surface. They are scavengers who love to compete with one another. American Gulls live inland near any available food sources and fly to islands when breeding season comes. The gulls usually eat Fish, Shrimp, Prawns, Eggs, Insects, Birds and Carrion. As of now they are of least concern.
